The Global Cardinal Resort

Douala, Cameroon

This hotel is located off the western coast of the Atlantic Ocean close to the rain forest of Central African Republic of Cameroon. Sited in the lush Savannah vegetation, we have chosen forms that blend into most natural of settings: the bow and the almond.

The almond forms the heart of the design; the focus, while the two reversed bows are the front and hind "claws" of this stationary, yet moving, structure. Its crab-like from is a tribute to the ocean from which it seems to emanate.

The lobby, lounge, restaurants and ballrooms are the crab legs which pull you into the building while the almond, contains the presidential suites which soar above the forest staring 360 degrees from horizon to horizon. Joining man and his environment in peaceful coexistence.
