Citadel Annex

The Citadel Annex is an addition to an existing conference center we had previously designed for the same client.

The site is half a kilometer from Abuja city gate. It is as prominent and visible a site as you can imagine.

The addition will include a school with a five hundred capacity multi-purpose hall and an adjacent 30-room hotel for visiting conference guests.

The addition is in stark contrast with the rather formal conference facility. Since this is a school for children between the ages of five and eighteen, we decided to design a very dynamic and anxious building that mimics the age group for which the building is designed.

The movement in the facade is designed to capture the attention of the fast moving highway traffic.
