The Benin kingdom is one of the most revered in all of Africa. Its traditions and mores have remained unchanged for centuries.

The client is a member of the Benin royal family. The project is in Benin City, the capital of this vast kingdom. Our challenge was designing a complex of buildings that respect the traditions of the Kingdom in a contemporary setting.

We did not mimic, rather we interpreted the traditions using the language of contemporary architecture.

The entertainment center is composed of movie theaters, banquet hall and restaurants, apartments, shopping and conferencing facilities set around an outdoor arcade of indoor/outdoor spaces.
